Billing
This page covers who charges you, where your invoices are, how to cancel, and what the rules are for withdrawal and refunds. What each plan can do is on the plans page, and the legal texts are under Legal.
Who bills you¶
Paid plans are sold through our online reseller, Paddle. When you order through the checkout, Paddle is the merchant of record. That means the purchase contract is with Paddle, and Paddle charges your card or account, issues the invoice, handles the taxes for your country and answers your billing questions. For that, Paddle gets your email address and billing details. The privacy notice has the details.
Businesses, public bodies and other organisations can also get podsink directly from us on request. In that case you get an offer from us, we invoice you ourselves, and the terms in that offer apply. Everything else on this page is about the checkout, unless it says otherwise.
Monthly or yearly¶
You can pay for Pro and Max monthly or yearly, and yearly is cheaper. The pricing page shows both prices. Your account page shows your plan, the date your recording hours start over next, the date of your next payment if you have a subscription, and what happens next if a change or a cancellation is coming up.
Invoices and payment details¶
Everything Paddle knows about your subscription, meaning your invoices, payment method and billing address, lives in Paddle's customer portal. You get there with "Manage subscription" on your account page. podsink sends you over with a link that already knows your subscription, so you don't need a separate Paddle login.
Cancelling¶
There are two ways to cancel. Both go through the moment you submit them and take effect at the end of the period you've paid for, so at the end of your subscription's month or year, so you keep your plan until then and won't be charged again.
- Signed in, with "Cancel subscription" on your account page. The page tells you the date your plan ends, and until then you can take the cancellation back right there.
- Without signing in, on the cancellation page. You enter the email address of your podsink account and submit the form. The page confirms when your cancellation came in, and if there's an account under that address, you also get a confirmation mail (for a plan you got directly from us, see below).
If you got your plan directly from us, the periods agreed in the offer apply, and we confirm the end date to you. A cancellation through the cancellation page reaches us for such a plan too, but it doesn't send a confirmation mail. We get in touch with the contacts named in your contract instead and confirm it there. For an extraordinary cancellation with a stated reason, you can reach us at hello@podsink.com.
Withdrawal and refunds¶
As a consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal when you buy a subscription. Since your contract is with Paddle, you exercise it with Paddle too. The refund page links the terms and explains exactly how.
On top of that, we're happy to be generous. If you bought a plan by mistake or changed your mind before recording your first session on the paid plan, we refund the full price within the first 14 days. A short mail to hello@podsink.com is all it takes. Once you've recorded a session in the current billing period, though, you've used the core of the service. Beyond the statutory right of withdrawal, there's no goodwill refund after that.
Payment problems¶
If a payment doesn't go through, your account page lets you know and asks you to update your payment method in the portal. Paddle then retries the charge. If the subscription ends because payment keeps failing, your account falls back to Free, and your existing recordings keep the retention they were promised.
